<< review queue entry 75316 - submitted by 'gregboothe' >> just a suggestion, I don't know much about mythology HDC, MOE, GR ---------------------------------- Editor: Neither you nor I know much about mythology, you haven't provided any examples of usage, I don't know much about Literary Chinese, I can't readily find examples of usage that I understand, and the word is only listed in the three specialized dictionaries you listed, two of which make no mention of a "capital". In short, it seems to be a word that few of our users would be relying on us to define, and there are too many factors that make it likely that our definition would be both incomplete and off the mark. Maybe it's best to leave this one out for now. "capital of Hell" doesn't seem to be one of the senses listed here: https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%B9%BD%E9%83%BD The English Wikipedia article "Youdu" includes the following sentence, which does not inspire confidence in the reliability of the article: "Among the various other geographic features believed of Diyu, the capital city has been thought to be named Youdu." |
