Comment: "eat in" is ambiguous. I think "dine in" may be as well.

The #1 sense at Wiktionary is
"To eat a meal at home."
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/eat_in

"eat in : To eat at one's home, as opposed to eating at a restaurant ("eating out")."
https://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/eat+in

Example:
“Let’s Eat in Tonight
Stephen Compton with Qualchoice joins Fox 16 Good Day to share the benefits of eating at home."
https://www.fox16.com/news/lets-eat-in-tonight/
Diff:
- 堂食 堂食 [tang2 shi2] /to eat in/dine-in service/
+ 堂食 堂食 [tang2 shi2] /to eat in (at the restaurant) (contrasted with 外帶|外带[wai4 dai4])/(restaurant) dine-in service/
