It's a term that isn't included in English dictionaries, it seems. I think in Australia, for example, an "ice cream bar" would be understood as not having a stick (i.e. one that you hold using its wrapper), or alternatively, as a kind of ice cream shop: "the term 'ice cream bar' [may refer to] an ice cream sundae bar, [which] is akin to a salad bar, except with a variety of ice cream flavors, toppings and sauces." That's why I added "ice cream popsicle". |
