The entry for 伽罗瓦 has the pinyin Jia1 luo2 wa4 so I guess it makes sense for this word to use the same pinyin for 瓦. Note: FWIW, the alternative pronunciation using hua has 4th tone in both 伽罗瓦理论 and 伽罗瓦 for 瓦

OTOH, wiktionary has 瓦 as wa3 in 伽罗瓦理论, but I don't know how reliable that is: https://zh.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E4%BC%BD%E7%BE%85%E7%93%A6%E7%90%86%E8%AB%96

I don't have any other resources to draw from, so I'm hoping an editor can help resolve this.

Note: these 4 words were all last edited over 10 years ago.

Editor: I believe 瓦 would have to be 3rd tone, and I'm pretty sure 华 is 2nd tone here.

I think
1) 瓦 is always wa3, and

2) 华 is hua2 most of the time, especially if it's in the transcription of a foreign word such as "Galois".
All these are [hua2]:
- 华达呢 [hua2 da2 ni2] gabardine
- 华尔街 [Hua2 er3 Jie1] Wall Street
- 华纳兄弟 [Hua2 na4 Xiong1 di4] Warner Brothers

I strongly suspect the pinyin is wrong in the following entry of ours:
阿华田 [A1 hua4 tian2] Ovaltine (brand)
