Alternate method of spelling Malay or Malaysian, for example 馬拉盞 ma3lai2 zhan3 Malaysian sauce
-------------------------------

Editor: You mention both 馬拉 and 马来 in your submission.
1) We already have 马来 in the dictionary.
2) As for 馬拉, it does mean "Malaysian" in Cantonese, but not in Mandarin.
This is a Mandarin-English dictionary.

Btw, 馬拉盞 is "ma3la1 zhan3", not "ma3lai2 zhan3".

Wikipedia:
「峇拉煎」(英語:Belachan),中文又音譯作「馬拉盞」,是東南亞一種用蝦醬製成的調味料。
