<< review queue entry 69183 >> this is encyclopedia entry not suit for dictionary ----------------------------------- Editor: The names of diseases *do* belong in dictionaries. "COVID-19", for example, is in both Merriam-Webster and Oxford. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/COVID-19 https://www.lexico.com/definition/covid-19 Other diseases like emphysema, arthritis, angina etc are all in those dictionaries too. For the 大陆 locale, the Wikipedia article on COVID-19 is "2019冠状病毒病". https://zh.wikipedia.org/zh-cn/2019%E5%86%A0%E7%8A%B6%E7%97%85%E6%AF%92%E7%97%85 That's why we have that term in our dictionary. If we delete it as you suggest, we would be a Chinese-English dictionary that would have no Chinese word for the most significant disease in the world today. |
