奥数 seems to often be used generically, not specifically for the International Mathematics Olympiad competition. For example: "现在很多奥数考试获得证书可以给孩子升初中时加分,所有很多家长都希望在孩子升初初中这个竞争激烈的环境下让孩子能有一些分数的优势。" — "Nowadays, getting a certificate in many mathematical olympiad exams can give children extra points when they enter junior high school. All many parents hope that children can have some score advantages in the highly competitive environment of children entering junior high school." (http://www.360doc.com/content/17/0622/21/40150287_665630120.shtml) Also, 小学奥数 is probably not referring to elementary school kids doing IMO problems.
"Olympiad math" is not a common phrase in English compared to "math olympiad", but "olympiad", strictly speaking, refers to a competition.

Editor: I think you can call the generic type "competition math".
