<< review queue entry 67162 - submitted by 'richwarm' >> It's a construct, but not only that, it's misleading, I believe. We looked at the meaning of 层次 in some depth a while ago: https://cc-cedict.org/editor/editor.php?queue_id=56118&handler=ViewQueueEntry "stage" suggests that 層次 refers to a part of a process where you pass from one stage to the next over time. 层次, on the other hand, refers to various *levels* that can all exist at the same time. E.g. 自然保育的三個層次,保護、復育、經營管理, "The three levels of nature conservation--protection, rehabilitation and management ..." These are *levels*, not stages: you don't start with protection, then when protection is completed, move on to rehabilitation, etc. |
