1) The "lit." part doesn't help, imo.

2) See LA and GF. They key thing is not how consistent the orders are, but rather, whether they are based on sound knowledge or not.

I mean, if a backseat driver tells me to turn right, that's not "confused" or "contradictory". However, it's a case of 瞎指挥 if the destination is straight ahead.

- 瞎指揮 瞎指挥 [xia1 zhi3 hui1] /lit. to direct blindly/to issue confused orders/to give contradictory directions/
