I suspect that in sl89's sub, he intended to say "this many" rather than "these many", because there was nothing there to support "these many".

Here are the relevant parts of that sub:

PLC: so much; so many : 枉费如许工力 | have wasted so much labour
M: 若干、有些。如:「如许钱」。
GF: 这么些; 这么多 | 破费如许钱财。
鲁迅《故乡》: 海边有如许五色的贝壳;

I think that all of the following would be suitable for this sense of 如许:
this much / so much / this many / so many

But not "these many".
