<< review queue entry 66359 - submitted by 'phantom' >> it is a transliteration of a name, Nazi is also a loanword in English and every other language, makes no sense to call it that ------------------------- Editor: > it is a transliteration of a name, True. > Nazi is also a loanword in English True. > and every other language, Maybe so. > makes no sense to call it that. Sorry, you lost me at this point. Can't see how you get to that conclusion. It's a rather minor issue. We could call Nàcuì a loanword, or not. Plenty of Chinese dictionaries do label it 音译, and among bilingual dictionaries, Grand Ricci labels it (transcr. phon.) – transcription phonétique – and ABC labels it 〈loan〉, for example. |
