I think it's a transitive verb: to make sth "hot"; to heat sth (e.g. prices) up (thru advertising etc).
NOT a stative verb / adjective: "hot".

TP 「因媒體炒熱並帶動市場,顧客成長速度飛快,許多人為了撿便宜、尋找限量及停產品而來,只要貨源充足、齊全,獲利還是不錯的。」
"With the media spotlight on this trend, customers virtually flock in, with a lot coming in to look for a bargain, or to find limited-run or out-of-production things. So as long as we keep up a steady supply of goods, our profits will be pretty good."
Diff:
- 炒熱 炒热 [chao3 re4] /hot (i.e. selling well)/to raise prices by speculation/to hype/
+ 炒熱 炒热 [chao3 re4] /to raise prices by speculation/to hype/
