Why don't they just stick with it?" 他表示，威翟式拼音在台灣廣泛使用，國外很多圖書館也使用這套系統，「這套系統有文化傳承的意義，為什麼要被腰斬？」 [He] notes that Wade-Giles is used by many libraries overseas. "Wade-Giles has a long tradition behind it. Why should we just throw it all out?" 如果原先的威翟式可以表達台灣與大陸之分野，為何未被列入考慮？ if the widely accepted Wade-Giles is sufficient to draw a distinction between Taiwan and mainland China, then why stop using it? Is the problem with Wade-Giles also related to the issue of internationalization? |
