* 消费 is defined as a verb, how can it have a measure word? Am I missing something?
* All C-E dictionaries “to consume” as a definition and all Chinese dictionaries have a version of “为满足生活或生产的需要而消耗物质资料。” (LAC). “to consume” is an appropriate translation for this definition however, (as a transitive verb) it is used to mean simply “to spend”. I don't think, e.g., many people would say in English “consuming money” but the Chinese 消费钱 is common.

我们或许知道用户群存在于哪个细分市场、他们的收入是多少、他们每周末消费多少钱,以及他们买什么样的车等。
We might know what market segment our users are in, how much money they make, how much money they like to spend on weekends, and what sort of cars they buy.

诺韦洛说大学生每年在酒精饮品上会消费掉42亿美元。
Novello says college students will spend $4.2 billion yearly on alcoholic beverages.

在此经济萧条时期,我们容许增加消费和借贷。
We have allowed spending and borrowing to rise in this recession.

他们的消费共计五十元。
Their expenses amount to fifty dollars.

We often define a word as a verb and leave it to users to do the necessary "syntactic yoga"* to understand it when it's used as a noun.

* syntactic yoga: "the contortion or exchange of one part of speech into another"

For example, 消费 could be understood as 'consumption' or 'expenditure on goods and services'.

Here's an example where 个 is a classifier for 消费. In fact, 笔 is also used as a classifier for 消费 in this example.

过年,这个传统的节日相当于外国的圣诞节,消费是不可避免的,回家的路费、过年的礼物、小辈的压岁钱,父母的孝敬钱等等,每一笔支出,都占据了自己收入的很大一部分,有人说需要花去1个月的工资,有人说需要花去1万元,不管花费多少,这些个消费都应该在我们合理财富规划范围内进行,是不是年终奖可能成为这笔消费的来源呢?该如何让年终奖与过年的消费相匹配呢?

2) Your Chinese example sentences seem to be translations of English sentences. For example, "我们或许知道用户群存在于哪个细分市场、..." appears to be a translation from a book originally written in English: "About Face".

It would be good to also include some usage that was originally written in Chinese in your submissions.
