ABC, HDC and KEY say it's [dang4] rather than [dang1]. And certainly, everyone seems to agree that 1) in the expression 当成耳旁风, it's [dang4 cheng2], not [dang1 cheng2]. 2) 当 (meaning "treat as; regard as; take for") is [dang4], not [dang1] On the other hand, you can certainly find online sources saying it's [dang1]. Possibly, people actually do say it the "wrong" way. |
