C-C dicts (M LA GF) are all saying it means "specialize in" while the C-E dicts are saying "monopoly" (K PLC NC ABC)!
Maybe it used to mean "monopoly" but the meaning has largely shifted in recent decades, and CE dicts haven't kept up.

"special trade" doesn't convey the meaning, and anyway it's usually a verb.

leaving D-Link to exclusively focus on brand management.

... Shuizhongyue, a shop dealing exclusively in Taiwanese teas.

Take for example Eagle Eyes, which specializes in the manufacture and sale of automobile headlights.

Taipei's venerable Tonsan Bookstore, which specializes in academic books in the humanities and social sciences,

Sun Ten Natureceutica, the company whose facility has been opened to the public, produces health supplements exclusively.

Uni Topline Industrial Corporation, which specializes in exporting flowers to Japan,

Foreport Enterprises, which specializes in imported seedlings and bulbs,

See also J. Hardly any of their examples are about monopoly.
e.g.
- This shop is specialized in the sale of native and special products ...
- Small stores and delicatessens specialise in cheese ...

On the other hand, it *can* mean monopoly sometimes:

Diff:
+ 專營 专营 [zhuan1 ying2] /to specialize in (a particular product or service)/monopoly/
