Problems with the current def: 1) "God" --> god 2) "of the seas" (plural) - No, he was a "god of the outer sea [singular] encircling the earth" (American Heritage) Actually, it was conceived as a river, I think: "a Titan who rules over a great river encircling the earth" (Merriam-Webster) Wp ~ "the sea [was] an enormous river encircling the world" |
