And it occurs sometimes in Chinese banners etc. in the USA, where there is no way for the casual non-Chinese reader to know it is not Mandarin. Which is how I happened to be looking it up. Editor: this is a Mandarin Chinese dictionary, so we don’t generally add Cantonese words. |
