<< review queue entry 61405 - submitted by 'ghast' >> according to 國語辭典 (https://www.moedict.tw/%E5%87%BA%E7%B7%9A), 出線 means: 在比賽中獲勝，取得下一輪比賽的資格。如：「選手們都全力以赴，以取得出線機會。」 according to one Chinese language textbook i've been reading (漢語口語速成 基礎篇 (第二十一課)), it has the meaning "to qualify for the next round of competitions", some examples from that book are : "今天這場球誰贏了誰就能出線, 非看不可" "再說, 出線的隊差不多都是各組的強隊" according to 百度百科, the primary definition of 出線 is literally: "出线，顾名思义，即在竞争中脱颖而出。" , then it goes on to add "目前较多指在体育比赛中，在分组比赛结束后进入下一轮称为出线。", and gives as an example this sentence: "阿根廷国家男子足球队2010年世界杯小组出线，进入决赛阶段。" it is interesting to note that in 國語辭典 tere is no no mention of the other (more literal) meanings of this term. in 百度百科, there is an emphasis in this competition-related meaning too. the simplified form for this term gives me around 15 million results in 百度, quite a few of them seem to be related to sports or competition in general (e.g. "民進黨的競選策略與國民黨何人出線"). please reword if needed. i'm not sure about that plural ("competitions"). perhaps it should be something different altogether. |
