Here is the context: 挖井人恍然大悟,下到井底一看,果然有一只巨大的青蛙屁股堵住泉眼不挪窝. The keeper of the well was startled; he climbed down to the bottom of the well to have a look, and there really was an enormous frog that blocked the mouth of the spring with its butt and would not move. Editor: this is a distinct Beijingism, for example used by Lin Haiyin. As such, it cannot be pronounced without erhua. But many speakers do not write down the erhua, they consider it's just part of the 'accent'. Having it w.o the erhua however would give a wrong idea of its pronunciation. Of course this may change if this word becomes mainstream w/o erhua. If you don't find 挪窩兒 when searching for 挪窩, your search tool is not adapted. Change it. You are right to point that it's not just 'move house'. But in your example, that frog had been sitting there a long time, it's not just 'move aside' but sth like 'pull out your roots' |
