Lots of hits for this, seems to be called "synthetic image" but I'm trying to find what that means more specifically, in terms of design. Maybe there's a better way to say it. In any case, "image synthesis" seems to serve as the process of compositing two images.

There is also 具象化.

--------------------------------

Editor: A "synthetic image" is one that is generated by computer rather than obtained "naturally" (optically).
That's not what 具象 means.

具象化 means "making something concrete/tangible".
Diff:
# 具象 具象 [ju4 xiang4] /image synthesis (computing, design)/
# Editor:
+ 具象 具象 [ju4 xiang4] /tangible image/concrete/representational (art)/
