The current 吊胃口 def is from A via K (almost verbatim). But A says "vulgar" rather than "slang". Other dicts have no such qualification. M @ 吊胃口 ~ 比喻故弄玄虛，使人急於探知。如：「你簡直存心吊我胃口！」 (They see no need to give the literal meaning "whet the appetite", and I suspect that 吊胃口 is rarely used literally anyway.) M does not have 弔胃口, and our definition of 弔 suggests that 弔胃口 is wrong. If you try searching for +"弔胃口", you only seem to get 吊胃口 examples! |
