<< review queue entry 32623 - submitted by 'rypervenche' >> I see some ambiguity on this one, but from all of the Taiwanese people that I have asked, they all pronounce the 角 as jiao3 when it refers to the meaning of "role". I'm not sure about the other 3 meanings, so I'll let you decide on that one. http://tw.dictionary.yahoo.com/search?ei=UTF- 8&p=%E4%B8%BB%E8%A7%92 Editor: that's funny, because ALL the taiwanese I know pronounce jue; they usually go as far as saying that jiao is an uneducated, PRC pronunciation. And they are vindicated by Taiwanese dicts, as far as I can see. (Why, even nciku says 主角 zhujue, I would have thought they went for zhujiao.) Maybe I live with the older generation, and you with the young. |
