Seems better to treat it as a verb from examples I looked at:
当我跟他说话时,害羞的男孩子脸红了。
他因愤怒而脸红。
Diff:
- 臉紅 脸红 [lian3 hong2] /red-faced/blushing/
+ 臉紅 脸红 [lian3 hong2] /to blush/to redden (with shame, indignation etc)/
