This term was brought up by my language exchange partners when discussing the recent US election.

https://baike.baidu.com/item/%E4%BF%A1%E6%81%AF%E8%8C%A7%E6%88%BF

Searching for “信息茧房” on Chinese Wikipedia results in a redirect to the "echo chamber" entry:
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Search&search=%E4%BF%A1%E6%81%AF%E8%8C%A7%E6%88%BF&ns0=1
---------------------------------

Editor: Of course, it's not a literal echo chamber (enclosed space where sound reverberates), so I'm expanding the definition.

Refs:

2) filter bubble: "a situation in which an internet user encounters only information and opinions that conform to and reinforce their own beliefs, caused by algorithms that personalize an individual’s online experience"

I asked my two language exchange partners about it, and they said it's something that parents tell their children to dissuade them from swimming unsupervised.

I asked a question about sexual eduation in China on HiNative and one person started talking about “本子和里番”:
https://hinative.com/en-US/questions/17019953

Chinese Wikipedia redirects “里番” to "承认动画片”.
https://zh.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%E9%87%8C%E7%95%AA&redirect=no

The entry in 百度百科 has a video that confirms the pinyin:
https://baike.baidu.com/item/%E9%87%8C%E7%95%AA

This press release on tw.news.yahoo.com confirms the traditional Chinese characters.

Editor: The meaning changed significantly when it was borrowed from Japanese.
裏番組 "ura bangumi" refers to a TV program competing with another in the same timeslot.
Another case of "lost in translation".

As the Wp article says:
