This is a tone correction. According to Google, YouDao, and my native speaking Chinese teacher "how much?" should be "duo1 shao3" not "duo1 shao5".

I can't find any validation that the other entry for duo1 shao3 as "/number/amount/somewhat/" is correct.
-------------------------------------------

Editor: Can't find any validation that [duo1 shao3] as "/number/amount/somewhat/" is correct?
Look at the YouDao website, for example.

多少 [duō shǎo]
(指数量的大小) number; amount:
Ex: 数量不论多少都将受到欢迎。'Any amount, great or small, will be appreciated.'
短语: (或多或少) somewhat; more or less; to some extent

Diff:
# 多少 多少 [duo1 shao3] /how much?/how many?/(phone number, student ID etc) what number?/

Apologies, I went through the wrong process to submit this correction with an earlier submission.

According to Google, YouDao, and my native speaking chinese teacher "How much?" should be "duo1 shao3" not "duo1 shao5".
----------------------------------------

Editor: Google? You mean Google Translate? Don't rely on that.

YouDao? They say it's [duo1 shao5].
Below is a quote from their website -- https://www.youdao.com/w/eng/%E5%A4%9A%E5%B0%91

多少 [duō shǎo]
(指数量的大小) number; amount:
Ex: 数量不论多少都将受到欢迎。'Any amount, great or small, will be appreciated.'
短语: (或多或少) somewhat; more or less; to some extent:

多少 [duō shao]
(问数量) how many; how much:
Ex:
你要多少(钱)? 'How much do you want?'
有多少人来参加晚会? 'How many people are coming to the party?'
Diff:
# - 多少 多少 [duo1 shao5] /how much?/how many?/(phone number, student ID etc) what number?/
# + 多少 多少 [duo1 shao3] /how much?/how many?/(phone number, student ID etc) what number?/

This is in the HSK 3.0 Level 1 word list
------------------------------------

Editor: Depending on context, it can also mean "in the train" or "on the body of the car" or "mounted on the frame of the bicycle" etc.

This is in the HSK 3.0 L2 word list, verified on google translate and Hack Chinese
------------------------------------

Editor: Some of the expressions on the HSK lists don't merit a dictionary entry.
In an English dictionary, you wouldn't find an entry for "have seen."
In a Chinese dictionary, you will find 見 and 過, but don't expect to find 見過.
