LA defines 訓導 as 教育並啟發勸導 (e.g. 耐心訓導學生), GF has 教育开導, and M has 教訓勸導. PLC likewise gives "instruct and guide", Key "instruction and guidance", and GR "instruire et diriger". There is also an educational-administration use in compounds such as 訓導處, 訓導主任, 訓導工作 and 訓導人員. This terminology seems to be somewhat dated: LA labels 訓導處 a Taiwan term and says it is now called 學務處, while PLC labels 訓導長 "dated" and glosses it "(in college) dean of students". |
