LA defines 咧嘴 as 嘴微張，嘴角向兩邊伸展。 In 黃森貴不禁咧嘴微笑, 咧嘴微笑 means "to grin", but 咧嘴 itself does not necessarily mean "to grin" (based on LA's definition). 咧嘴 is used in 齜牙咧嘴, which can mean grimace or snarl: - 原來小傷口也可以痛到齜牙咧嘴， - 在山路上徒手與齜牙咧嘴的西藏獒犬近身肉搏， - 至於中老年客人，也許是筋骨較硬且怕痛，有時會齜牙咧嘴大喊「Bow！Bow！」（泰語輕一點之意）。 "grimace" example where it's not part of 齜牙咧嘴: 老伴患有先天性髋关节缺陷，年轻时还能勉强支撑，可随着年岁渐长，髋关节的磨损越来越严重，疼得越来越厉害。平日里走几步路就直咧嘴，上下楼梯更是寸步难行，... |
