库克谢幕,特努斯挂帅苹果4万亿帝国 https://www.thepaper.cn/newsDetail_forward_33017142 (delete sense #2, "dominate over other considerations; to be over-emphasized" 不知道出自哪里) ----------------- Editor: The M example quoted in the submission itself already illustrates the figurative sense: 現在是一個經濟掛帥的時代。 Here 掛帥 clearly doesn't mean literally "to take command". The proposed gloss retains only the literal sense ("to be in command; to take command; to take charge"), but omits this figurative usage. LA likewise distinguishes the literal and figurative senses: Taiwan Panorama contains many similar examples: 考試掛帥的教育體制 業績掛帥 經濟掛帥 成本利潤掛帥 績效掛帥 技術掛帥 理性消費掛帥 資本主義掛帥 These examples suggest that 掛帥 is also used figuratively to mean that something is the dominant or overriding consideration. I therefore don't think the figurative sense should be deleted, although its English glosses could perhaps be improved. |
