------------------- Editor: LA defines the volleyball sense as: 1. M has 時間差攻擊, defined as 排球運動用語。 NA has this example sentence: So it's not "mistiming". That would imply a mistake in timing. Rather, it is a deliberate attacking tactic that creates and exploits a timing gap. NA's example 打了一个时间差得分 is not saying that the attackers mistimed something and won a point; rather, it is saying that they executed a timing-gap attack and won a point. Also, I don't think "time difference between two matters" is an extension of the volleyball sense. Rather, it appears to be the basic compositional meaning of 时间差 ("difference in timing; time gap; time lag"), from which the volleyball sense is derived. The extended sense seems instead to be a situation in which a timing gap can be exploited to one's advantage. /time gap; time lag/ 只是當時資訊仍受政府管控,以致形成時間雖在1960年代,但進入台灣都有5~10年的時間差。 |
