That wording suggests an abstract relationship, whereas the evidence seems to point more toward physical proximity. For example: 正當他得到塔台許可，進入機場的航線時，一架中興號密接支援機竟破雲而出，正對著許德英撞來。 Here, 密接支援機 is clearly "close-support aircraft". The sense is one of support rendered in close proximity, not of being "inseparably related". NA glosses 密接 as "to be close together", with an example sentence indicating that soldiers on a march should not be 密接, translated as "should properly space out". K ~ "be close together; be near to" GR ~ contigu; adjacent; côte à côte; rapproché i.e. adjoining; adjacent; side by side; in close proximity. And of course, /adjacent; in close proximity/ also fits naturally with the epidemiological abbreviation 密接 "close contact". |
