Used to describe people or behaviors which are alluding to sex (also used like thirst trap for content)
Some explanation articles:

A video in which it is used similar to the english thirst trap:

I realize that thirst trap and risque and suggestive are related but since thirst trap is such a widely used term in the english online language I wanted to also include it, but not sure if totally appropriate, especially since 擦边 seems to require a noun (is an adjective) and thirst trap can function as a noun itself.
----------------------

Editor: "Thirst trap" corresponds more closely to 擦边视频 (a type of content) than to 擦边 itself (a type of behavior or style).
Diff:
- 擦邊 擦边 [ca1 bian1] /to make light contact with the edge of sth/(fig.) to be nearly (a certain age); to be close to (danger)/(fig.) to be marginal (in terms of relevance or legality)/
# + 擦邊 擦边 [[ca1 bian1]] /to make light contact with the edge of sth/(fig.) to be nearly (a certain age); to be close to (danger)/(fig.) to be marginal (in terms of relevance or legality)/risqué, suggestive/thirst trap/

+ 擦邊 擦边 [[ca1bian1]] /to make light contact with the edge of sth/(fig.) to be nearly (a certain age); to be close to (danger)/(fig.) to push the boundaries of what is acceptable; to operate in a gray area/(Internet slang) sexually suggestive; provocative while skirting platform rules or censorship/
