<< review queue entry 9400 - submitted by 'karanmisra' >> lěi is a tricky character. If 垒 is used as the simple form, then 壘 is the traditional form. If 累 is used, then 累 is also the traditional form. This is when it means 'to pile up'. 纍纍 is also a word but it is very formal and the pronunciation is léiléi. It means 'haggard/unkempt'. As it happens the simple form of this word is also 累累, so given the choice, 垒 is preferable for the meaning 'to pile up' and 累 should be used mainly for lèi 'tired' and the 'léi' pronunciation. Although, unfortunately, as it happens 累 is used in many common words with the lěi pronunciation such as jīlěi. |
