Scientifically, 鳐科 is the "skate" family (of rays) called "Rajidae" (they do not have stingers). But the character 鳐 is used outside of this family, such as in 电鳐 "electric ray" (https://baike.baidu.com/item/%E7%94%B5%E9%B3%90/1131316). Also, everyday people seem to use 鳐鱼 somewhat inconsistent with taxonomy.

For example:

- https://youtu.be/MWKE19SL8tc?si=wdIC-2t6pK_8WNC4&t=90 says that some 鳐鱼 can have stingers (skate don't have stingers; stringrays do).
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVUm6Bk10F8 uses the label 蓝点鳐 for a stingray, which is technically incorrect (it should be 蓝斑条尾魟 https://baike.baidu.com/item/%E8%93%9D%E6%96%91%E6%9D%A1%E5%B0%BE%E9%AD%9F/1276781 https://fishdb.sinica.edu.tw/chi/species.php?id=395640)

- https://www.youtube.com/shorts/8SERIPRtdcQ these are stingrays but called 鳐鱼

Editor: I just changed "belonging to" to "of".
