Comment: << review queue entry 85697 - submitted by 'becky82' >>
Continuing on from https://cc-cedict.org/editor/editor.php?queue_id=84043&return=ListUnprocessedQueueEntries&handler=ViewQueueEntry I submitted an update for 𫚉 here https://cc-cedict.org/editor/editor.php?queue_id=85694&return=MySubmissions&handler=ViewQueueEntry and now this one

- 这巨大身影是鬼蝠𫚉,是世界上最大的𫚉鱼 (0:44) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXCenRGvC3Y this shows manta rays, and calls them 𫚉鱼 (likewise on Wikipedia https://zh.wikipedia.org/zh-cn/%E9%AC%BC%E8%9D%A0%E9%AD%9F)
- 看魟魚被虎鯨用尾鰭冷不防地「巴落去」! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xby0VA_kvsg this uses 魟魚 to describe a stingray (barb easily visible on the tail)
- https://www.youtube.com/shorts/LyMVKHVijCM here 魟魚 is "stingray" (I'm not an expert, but it looks like a "banded stingaree" https://www.sharksandrays.com/banded-stingaree/)
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETEMynS8o8I has 魟魚 which I think are "Leopard whipray" (stingray) and black diamond stingray.
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AowX1DkGiKs is a video about stingrays translated to 魟魚

So the impression I'm getting is that 𫚉鱼 usually means "stingray" in everyday speech (so let's put that first), and in scientific contexts it can mean "ray" in general.
Diff:
- 魟魚 𫚉鱼 [hong2 yu2] /skate (cartilaginous fish belonging to the family Rajidae)/stingray/
# + 魟魚 𫚉鱼 [[hong2yu2]] /stingray/ray (cartilaginous fish)/Taiwan pr. [hong1yu2]/

+ 魟魚 𫚉鱼 [[hong2yu2]] /ray (esp. stingray)/
