LA 朽木不可雕 xiǔmù bùkě diāo 語出《論語‧公冶長》：「宰予晝寢。子曰：『朽木不可雕也，糞土之牆，不可杇也。』」腐朽的木頭不能雕刻。比喻資質低劣，不堪造就。[例]他資質駑鈍，但肯認真學習，並非～。 Unless we can find independent usage where people use 宰予晝寢 as a set phrase meaning something like "a hopeless student", this entry doesn't seem worth keeping. The current def feels long and vague, and I suspect that's because it's trying to define a story fragment rather than a lexical unit. |
