I haven't added "to end" as a separate gloss, since 了断 is not a neutral, general verb meaning "to end" (like 结束). It typically implies bringing something to a decisive or final conclusion. The existing gloss "to bring to a conclusion" already covers that meaning more accurately, and a bare "to end" would be too broad and potentially misleading. Ex. 分手像慢性病，很難快意了斷，... 自殺者自行了斷生命，卻留給親友無盡的痛苦悲傷，與永遠縈繞心頭而無解的「為什麼？！」 |
