<< review queue entry 84664 - submitted by 'yuebei2' >> I believe that 幾 in the traditional script is incorrect here, strictly speaking. I don't generally see that character being used in the context of tables elsewhere, only 几. Other entries related to tables, e.g. 茶几, mostly seem to agree. I've also checked this word against moedict (https://www.moedict.tw/%E5%87%A0%E6%A1%88) and Wiktionary (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E5%87%A0%E6%A1%88), for what it's worth. -------------------- Editor: I don't think 幾 is incorrect. Yuen Ren Chao indicates in his dictionary (published in the 1940s) that 几[ji1] is a "popular form of 幾". But I think 几案 is the more usual form. Examples from Taiwan Panorama magazine: 1) 几案 a. 2) 幾案 a. |
