But that is from the perspective of the simplification committee, who decided to merge 讚 and 贊. But 讚 and 贊 are both commonly used trad forms. They are both in Chao's 1940s dict, both in LA, and both commonly used in Taiwan. The "real variants" are these two: 讃 seems rare - zero usage on TP, at any rate, and no entry in LA 賛 likewise 讚 and 贊 are both commonly used on TP (讚 55% and 贊 45% of instances), and are both in LA. * * * I don't think "(Internet slang) to like (an online post on Facebook etc)" is justified. I think there is very little usage of things like 我赞了你的照片. "我讚了你的" and "我贊了你的" both return < 10 G results. simp form "我赞了你的" likewise returns not many results. 赞 is used as a bound form in *compounds* that mean "to like on social media" (e.g. 点赞), but as a single-character, I think something like "(bound form) to praise" is more appropriate. * * * |
