Taiwan Panorama magazine, for example, in 50 years of publishing, has used 腳色 only 5 times, but they used 角色 3,260 times (based on a Google (verbatim) search of site:taiwan-panorama.com). 2) You don't need to quote from dictionaries so much, because we have access to lots of dictionaries ourselves, and it's easy to look them up. What helps us more is examples of usage, especially ones carefully selected to demonstrate the meaning of the word. 3) Is "background" an obsolete sense? You offer no examples of usage, and 重编国语辞典修订本 has only a single example from the 17th century. 4) variant of 角色[jue2se] ➝ variant of 角色[jue2se4] |
