<< review queue entry 81701 - submitted by 'tjspro' >> Spoken of here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7z5ypWPBN4M&t=2m42s https://zh.wikipedia.org/zh-hant/%E7%BA%A6%E7%BF%B0%C2%B7%E6%A2%85%E7%BA%B3%E5%BE%B7%C2%B7%E5%87%AF%E6%81%A9%E6%96%AF. Also sometimes spelled 凱恩斯 (Kai3en1si1) ------------------------ Editor: > "Also sometimes spelled 凱恩斯" "Sometimes"? It looks like it's the other way around – *usually* spelled 凱恩斯, except in Taiwan. Google (verbatim) results: "凯恩斯" 2,640,000 "凯因斯" 206,000 (And we do have an entry for 凱恩斯.) Apart from that, there's also the fact that nowadays we limit the creation of new proper noun entries. To quote what I've written previously: "Thanks, but we are no longer adding proper nouns[1] that are in Wikipedia unless they are the sort of name likely to be in *any* C-E dictionary[2]. A comprehensive C-E dictionary of topics (including proper names) can be derived automatically from Wikipedia, and is likely to appear sooner or later. Pleco has indicated that they will offer this sort of name list after Pleco version 4 is released. So it doesn't make sense for us to continue adding names manually, covering what is inevitably only a tiny subset of the names in Wikipedia. [1] people, places, book titles etc. [2] 诸葛亮, 黄河, 易经 etc." |
