<< review queue entry 75516 - submitted by 'kbaiko' >> to scold: 呵斥, 呵喝, 呵禁, 呵谴, etc to expel breath: 呵欠, 一气呵成 (onom.) laughter: Mainly duplicated, and used like "haha" in English. This was by far the most common usage of this character in my corpus. interjection of surprise: 2nd most common usage, used like 啊 a1. I assume that's what "my goodness" was trying to express. According to some dictionaries 呵 is actually a variant of 啊 for all 5 of 啊's pronunciations (a1, a2, a3, a4, a5), so we would need 5 entries like + 呵 呵 [[a1]] /variant of 啊[a1]/ + 呵 呵 [[a2]] /variant of 啊[a2]/ + 呵 呵 [[a3]] /variant of 啊[a3]/ + 呵 呵 [[a4]] /variant of 啊[a4]/ + 呵 呵 [[a5]] /variant of 啊[a5]/ However I will refrain from adding those as I couldn't find much usage |
