But 待業 has been used in Taiwan at least as far back as the mid-90s. An example from 1996: 像這樣在尋尋覓覓的過程中一定會出現的短暫待業空檔，就是所謂的「摩擦性失業」。 btw, "await" isn't followed by "for" -- "await" means "wait for". |
