"told you so" - I'd suggest removing this because a) "you" implies this is used
in conversation to address someone and b) it has a tone of smugness or perhaps
even superiority to it, neither of which are necessarily seen in 果不其然.

For example,
>那些日子,爷仨虽然笑在脸上,却怕在心头。果不其然,犯法者终究逃脱不了法律的制裁。
公安机关查清了他们全部盗窃事实,将爷仨依法逮捕了。
"... as expected, the law caught up to the criminals ..."
Diff:
- 果不其然 果不其然 [guo3 bu4 qi2 ran2] /just as expected/told you so/
+ 果不其然 果不其然 [[guo3bu4qi2ran2]] /(idiom) just as expected/
