<< review queue entry 79424 - submitted by 'polaris' >> 实际中多读蛋塔(dàn tǎ),两个4声似乎不符合汉语习惯,虽然挞只有一个四声的标准音,类似“媛”字。 见 https://hznews.hangzhou.com.cn/wenti/content/2021-09/14/content_8053987.htm https://www.thepaper.cn/newsDetail_forward_15936237 ------------------------ Editor: Following kbaiko's suggestion ~ "Maybe we can add a colloquial pronunciation to 挞, doubt it's limited to 蛋挞." 撻 was first used in Cantonese, apparently -- presumably because in Cantonese, there's a "t" on the end: Jyutping "taat3". I speculate that 蛋挞 is used in Mandarin because it started out that way in Cantonese, and 蛋塔 later came to be used because it indicates more accurately the way the word is pronounced in Mandarin. |
