A comprehensive C-E dictionary of topics (including proper names) can be derived automatically from Wikipedia, and is likely to appear sooner or later. Pleco has indicated that they will offer this sort of name list after Pleco version 4 is released. So it doesn't make sense for us to continue adding names manually, covering what is inevitably only a tiny subset of the names in Wikipedia. [1] people, places, book titles etc. [2] 诸葛亮, 黄河, 易经 etc. In this case, the main page is https://zh.wikipedia.org/zh/峇厘岛 and you can change the variety of Chinese with the dropdown under the title (not the dropdown on the right that changes between English, French, Japanese etc). If you select "大陆简体" for example the page is 巴厘岛, if you select 香港繁體 the page becomes 峇里島, in 大马简体 it's 峇厘岛 etc. So these kind of entries can also be automatically generated. |
