Here, it's 叫人走路 that means "fire; dismiss", not 走路.

Here's another example. In this case, the employee left the job without being fired.
這種情況下,裁員是「迫不及待」了。果然老板說,如果誰願意「自願離職」,資遣費可以拿到一.二倍(一年年資發一.二個月薪水)的優惠,我當然不願意,可是也不過多待了三個月,還是走路了。

2) The example for "to flee; to escape; to run away" (《三國演義》瑜暗忖曹仁必先準備走路) is more than 600 years old. You might like to see if there is modern usage and resubmit. If there isn't, that sense could be left out – or added with a usage label such as "(old)" or "(archaic)".
