<< review queue entry 75338 - submitted by 'kbaiko' >> ---------------------------- Editor: 1) Most of this batch appears to be about formatting: v2 pinyin format, semicolons in the definition etc. Since I'm going through all entries anyway, I don't really need to have my attention drawn to such issues. 2) Larger batches like this, with more than just 1, 2 or 3 entries tend to sit on the queue for a long time because an editor needs to have a longer period of time free from interruptions to go through each entry. 3) When I convert the pinyin of an entry to v2, it signifies more than just the fact that the pinyin format has been upgraded. At the same time, I am reviewing the definition, and this is the time-consuming part: the pinyin can be done in seconds, but the definition can take much longer. That's why a batch like this, with eight entries, can be cumbersome. 4) a. "nasty" doesn't seem like a particularly apt word for 污穢, especially as the first gloss. b. Likewise, there are better words than "coarse" to define 淫穢. c. The definition of自惭形秽 can be improved by not repeating "inferior". Also, "feel ashamed" goes without saying. 5) Brackets are missing in + 穢 秽 [hui4] ... and + 自慚形穢 自惭形秽 [[zi4can2xing2hui4] ... |
