<< review queue entry 75276 - submitted by 'kbaiko' >> https://www.zdic.net/hans/%E6%93%8E ◎ 向上托;举:~受。 I don't know if "to raise (hand)" is a bad translation of that, or if it's some definition I'm not seeing in my dictionaries, but I'm leaving it as is. >夏德根据那张收据找到了坟墓的位置,擎着伞站在嵌在地面的墓碑前 ----------------------------------- Editor: "raise" is a synonym of your own suggestion "lift up". And I'm sure "(hand)" was added simply to indicate that it's something one does with one's hand, as opposed to "raise" as in "raise funds" or "raise a child" or "raise an objection" or "raise the rent" etc. It doesn't say "to raise (one's hand)", if that's how you read it. |
