It seems that 肉弹 is at least partly derived from the Japanese term 肉弾 (nikudan), coined more than 100 years ago, and defined by Kenkyusha as "a human bullet; a suicide attacker/bomber." At least one Chinese-English dictionary (New Age) gives a definition of 肉弹 in terms of Japanese kamikaze attacks in WWII. Wikipedia: 肉弾（にくだん）は、櫻井忠温が日露戦争後に実体験をもとにして描いた戦記文学。また転じて「肉体によって銃弾の様に敵陣に飛び込む攻撃」の事も指す。 Translation: "肉弾 (Nikudan) is war literature written [and published in 1905] by Tadayoshi Sakurai based on his actual experiences of the Russo-Japanese War. Additionally, it metaphorically refers to an attack where one leaps into the enemy lines like a bullet, using one's body as a projectile." |
